A Car Wash for Kids

Mommy and Daddy have all of their supplies together to make us a special surprise! They won't tell us what it is but we think it's going to be really cool!

I'm not sure what this is for but I like it!

I'm helping Daddy as he drills some holes.

This is great! It is 1,000 degrees outside and this is keeping us cool!

Trip to the City Part 1

We started our day off by riding the bus from our house to the bus/train station. It was Mommy's first time and boy was she excited. We got on the 'L' and rode it downtown. A new Chick-fil-A just opened up and our friends wanted to try it out so we went along.

We walked all over the city and we were very tired.

Trip to the City Part 2

We took a water taxi ride down the Chicago River. It was great to see the city from the river and the weather was perfect.

Corn on the cob anyone?

Swimming Classes

Learning how to float and getting comfortable putting my face in the water!

My favorite part was playing in the water with my class while we sang songs!

I was super excited to learn how to dive until...I did my first belly flop and back flop. They hurt so bad that I was scared for a little while to dive. But I got over and got back on my horse!

Happy 7th Birthday!

Today is my 7th birthday. When Mommy and Daddy asked me what I wanted to do, I told them that I wanted to go to American Girl Place. So off we went for the afternoon. This was a fun place to take our picture. The girl on the far left isn't part of our family.
Hey, where did the boy go?

We ate lunch in the cafe. You wouldn't believe how long it took my sister to decide which outfit her doll was going to wear today.

Meet my new doll!
Does she look like someone you know? *wink, wink*
Eating here was so much fun. Our dolls sat at the table in their very own little seats with their mini cups and saucers. Our meal was so yummy! When we were finished they sang Happy Birthday to me and gave me a birthday sticker.

This is my brother spitting his ice back into his fancy water glass.
He doesn't get out much.

We're on our way to our Awana closing program. A whole year of memorizing Bible verses! We're going to sing some songs, get some awards and have some snacks!
(Some of us got new eye glasses!)

Delivery Cat

We had the greatest idea! Let's put the cat in the box and then strap her to the roof of the car. Then we'll driver her around the house like she's being delivered! We had a blast.

Not sure what the cat thought about it...
If you remember, Sherman has a thing for Jimmy John's.

Silly Girls

Goodbye Butterflies

The day has come to release our beautiful butterflies into the world.

Somebody Call the Tooth Fairy

Before

After

Butterflies

We don't have to worry about this happening anytime soon.
By the way, isn't this a great chalk drawing?

Please meet our chrysalids.

Please meet our first butterfly! We are so excited for the others to make their appearance!

Resurrection Sunday 2011

It's Resurrection Sunday! Jesus paid it all!
Time for the annual Easter Egg Hunt at church. We are all set with our baskets and can't wait for it to start. We get to find plastic eggs that are filled with candy and toys!

After the egg hunt we came home and dyed real eggs. I was a little impatient waiting for my eggs.

I decided to write on my eggs before I dyed them.

I'm having a great time watching my sister draw on her eggs while my eggs are turning colors.

Our eggs!

Field Trip!

The Museum of Science and Industry. This place is BIG and it has so many things to see and do!

My sister and I "clowning" around. (groan)

Why so serious Daddy?

This is so cool. There are pebbles projected onto the wall and our shadows can "catch" the pebbles.

Driving a John Deere!

This was amazing. It's called a Tesla coil. It hangs from the ceiling and we sat in seats under it. When it's turned on it creates a LOUD electrical current. You can even feel heat from it.

A brand new baby chicken from the hatchery. We watched them break out of their egg shells!

Curls

This is what girls with straight hair have to do to get curls.

It's Been Awhile

This is my "little red riding hood" that I wear around the house. I think wearing the hood keeps me warmer than if I didn't wear it. I like to be warm when I do my school work. :)
Mommy says that I am doing really well in school. I read a lot and love history.
I look forward to AWANA every week and art class. My favorite thing to do is play the Wii but Mommy won't let me play it during school hours. :(

I'm doing really well with my schooling. Every morning I sit down and see what I have scheduled for the day. Then I tell Mommy how many "paragraphs" I have to read and take notes on. I run and tell Mommy what my grade is after every quiz I take. I usually get an A+ and if not then we keep working on it until I understand it.
I am working really hard on memorizing my scripture verses for AWANA. The fact that I can win a prize doesn't hurt either. :)
I've started another art class and look forward to it every week. When I'm not doing the previous things, I am usually reading or making crafts. Hopefully the weather will warm up soon so we can get outside and ride our bikes. It's kind of hard to do in the snow.

It's me! I'm 4 now! (This reminds Mommy to look for the pictures from my birthday.)
Well, I spend my days doing school work, drawing and playing. I also go to art class which is really fun! I love going to AWANA where I run until my head sweats. I went to the park one time this month because it warmed up for one whole day. I hope summer gets here because I want to play outside!
